Hosted by Arethusa Farm, Litchfield, Connecticut
Sunday, July 27
Arethusa Farm Open House 1:00-4:00 PM
The owners and employees of Arethusa Farm invite you to tour their heifer
barn and milking barn facilities. After parking in a centralized location,
busses will move you to the heifer barn built in 2005. This barn houses
heifers from 6-20 months in 24 group pens; all heifers will be identified
for your viewing. Your next stop is the new milking facility completed
in 2006, where you will be greeted by 80 milking cows. Farm employees
will be on-hand in both locations to answer questions. When you are
ready to leave, a shuttle will take you back to the parking area.
Shuttles will circulate throughout the afternoon, stopping at each location every 15 minutes. This allows you time to view the cattle at your pace. The final tour shuttle will depart the parking area for the heifer barn at 3:30PM.
For bio-security reasons, the Open House will be the only time the barns are open to the public. This is your only opportunity to view the Arethusa cattle.
Global Glamour Sale Preview 4:00-7:00 PM
After you have toured Arethusa Farm, we invite you to preview the Global
Glamour Sale cattle. They will be housed in a tent adjacent to the parking
area. Join us for hors d’oeuvres and drinks while you analyze
these distinctive individuals. The “models” will be ready
for the runway!
